Creating powerful poetic hybrid documentaries that explore themes of belonging, otherness and perception, using a restrained visual language and metaphorical storytelling to invite empathy rather than explanation.
De Wolf in Ons is a poetic short film directed by Xavier Pijnacker. It follows a young refugee moving silently through a new country, while his inner struggle is mirrored by the symbolic presence of a wolf. The voice-over of refugees guides the viewer through the film, adding an inner emotional layer. With minimal dialogue, the film explores themes of identity, fear, vulnerability and the longing to be seen.
The short film tells the true story of eight young people who have experienced loneliness. Throughout the film, the young people themselves are not shown on screen; instead, actors portray a reflection of the topics discussed.
