This short documentary tells the story of Dutch twins on their journey toward a successful career in the racing world. They are among the very few twins in the Netherlands who have become, and can become national champions together.
This short documentary follows the extraordinary journey of a pair of twins striving to build a successful career in the competitive world of racing. Their story is not only about speed, ambition, and the pursuit of victory, but also about the unique and powerful bond they share—both on and off the track. From early childhood memories of racing side by side to the intense training sessions that push their physical and mental limits, the film explores how they have grown as individuals while remaining inseparable as teammates.
As one of the very few twin duos in the Netherlands to have already earned the title of national champions, they stand out as a rare and remarkable phenomenon in the sport. Their achievements challenge the traditional narrative of racing as a solo pursuit, showcasing instead how trust, communication, and shared intuition can become a competitive advantage. Throughout the documentary, viewers witness their dedication, the pressure of competition, and the personal sacrifices they make to continue evolving in a demanding environment.
Beyond the adrenaline and technical precision of racing, the film highlights the emotional layers of their journey: the support of their family, the healthy rivalry that drives them to excel, and the moments of doubt that test their resilience. Ultimately, this documentary captures how their sibling connection fuels their determination to push boundaries and reach new heights together in a sport where individuality often takes center stage. It is a story of passion, perseverance, and an extraordinary partnership that defies expectations.
My role during the filming process was to act as an off-screen presenter and interviewer, ensuring that the story flowed naturally while maintaining a sense of authenticity. Throughout the shoot, I guided the narrative by actively exploring the emotions, motivations, and perspectives of the twin racers and their father. By asking targeted and open-ended questions about their experiences during the races, I helped reveal the personal challenges, dynamics, and excitement that shaped their journey.
In addition to steering the on-location conversations, I was also responsible for conducting the more formal, sit-down interviews with both the twins and their parents. This included preparing interview questions, arranging the technical setup, and carefully organizing the interview environment to create a comfortable atmosphere where the subjects felt at ease. By managing both the content and the setting, I contributed not only to the storytelling itself but also to the overall quality and structure of the documentary material.
